Author Support Services

Start with the stage of your project—not the perfect industry term.

Naomi will help you understand what fits, what comes next, and how to move forward with clarity.

Naomi’s Editorial Path

Five stages.One thoughtful editorial path.

Each stage has a distinct purpose, so the manuscript moves from assessment through refinement without rushing the author’s decisions.

  1. 01

    Sample Edit and Analysis

Begin with a focused sample and a clear view of what the manuscript needs.

The minimal sample-edit fee is applied to the editing cost if you move forward. The analysis considers punctuation, usage, grammar, spelling, and 15 industry-standard categories, including style, grade level, passive voice, dialogue, and engagement.

  2. 02

    Developmental Editing

    Big Picture · Round One

Address structure, purpose, pacing, character, content, and the manuscript’s larger opportunities.

Naomi completes the first editorial round with close attention to what is already working and where revision can make the greatest difference.

  3. 03

    Author Revisions

The author completes one informed revision round with the developmental feedback in hand.

This protected revision stage gives the author room to make decisions, preserve the manuscript’s voice, and strengthen the work before line editing begins.

  4. 04

    Line Editing & Refinement

    Round Two

Refine the reading experience at sentence and paragraph level.

Naomi strengthens clarity, flow, language, consistency, and the integration of the author’s revisions without flattening the author’s voice.

  5. 05

    Proofreading and Final Review

Complete the final quality pass after editing and revisions are resolved.

Proofreading addresses remaining surface-level errors and presentation details, followed by a final review so the author understands what is complete and what comes next.
